A new blogpost from The Lust List blog  by Home Lust Concept Store

Focusing on sustainability, eco-living and concerns about socially-responsible lifestyles, this theme heralds the growth of conscious design and environmentally-friendly product making and sourcing. The theme was exemplified by this year's Maison & Object Designer of the Year, Ramy Fischler's installation.

Vincent Grégoire designed the Inspirations and Trends Space at Maison & Objet this autumn and in it he explores concepts associated with the "Virtuous" theme: "Responsible production is increasingly focusing on ‘makers’, artisanship and fair trade, with the emergence of upcycling and repairing. Environmental consciousness advocates for sustainable development, alternative materials and the ocean’s potential. Local sourcing stems from the need for traceability and the growing popularity of products manufactured domestically. Lastly, respect for our kin addresses the social dimension of the production process and the question of fairness that inevitably comes with it."

Explore the trends space at Maison & Objet here and watch the theme's presentation below.

The main trends, as seen at Maison & Objet this September, are a resurgence of soft pastels and botanical motifs, which were particularly strong and omnipresent throughout 2018. Metallics, especially brushed and matte gold is still the perfect accent for both dark and light interiors. Bright and bold colours and patterns, as well as ethnic and tribal motifs are central to textiles and wall decor design.
