One fine day this summer, home-lust.com had a little get together with favourite interior stylist Kim Gray and music blogger Valentina Magli in sunny Monkstown, Co Dublin ...
We spent the day cooking, prepping, chatting about our favourite holiday destination, Morocco (since you ask), home styling and playing with summery table settings and accessories; as you do when the gorgeous Irish sun is shining...
And the lovely crew of Kilig Productions was around to film it all. Enjoy!
This is how we brought summer and that wondrous wanderlust feeling into this beautiful home in just a few hours ...
We combined a few our favourite decor trends and seasonal interior staples: seaside inspired home textiles, classic Nordic tableware, geometric and ethnic furnishings, and copper Moroccan table decor.
Coastal Living | Because we found ourselves in the Georgian part of Monkstown, and close to the sea, we were inspired to create a coastal look setting, using white, blue and green.
As it happens, wild garlic and rosemary are in season, and we found loads of shamrock and mint, so we included those, too. Love the look? Get the look!
Monochrome Scandinavian Design | Coastal decor and Nordic design go hand in hand, so we added black and grey to our table. Glass faceted bud vases and marble print vessels sit perfectly alongside geometric side dishes and etched white porcelain cups. More about how to create an authentic Scandinavian home here.
Ethnic Effervescence | We all have a soft spot for everything Moroccan-inspired, from tiles to teas, lustful lanterns to boho rugs, desert hues to delicious dates, so we were always going to make room for an Oriental tea table for our fresh mint Moroccan tea and halva dessert. We kept the menu Mediterranean and delighted in sweet and savoury North African delights and travel stories. Here's how to recreate the look in your own home.
